Important Information About COVID-19
We are proud to announce that Skin and Cancer Center of Arizona has remained open for business during the pandemic to serve our patient’s needs. We are committed to providing a safe environment for all our patients and staff and have proactively taken measures to mitigate concerns around Coronavirus (COVID 19). As the Governor’s office is issuing more guidance to relax restrictions around healthcare facilities, we will continue to implement our policies and procedures following all governmental directives, and taking extra precautions to help keep both our patients and staff safe. This includes but is not limited to:
- All employees and patients are required to wear masks at all times. This is a preventative measure and is not indicative of anyone having or carrying the virus.
- Appointments are limited to patient only; guests must wait in their vehicle or in the first floor lobby. If assistance is needed or patient is a minor 1 additional visitor is accepted.
- Frequent sanitization of common areas in clinics including waiting area and exam rooms.
- Advanced verbal screenings for any patient who requires an in-office visit and/or surgical procedure.
- Limited waiting periods, staggered provider schedules and appropriate distancing while waiting to be placed in an exam room.
Please also make sure you are monitoring your health for flu-like symptoms. If you are experiencing cough, fever and shortness of breath, recently traveled out of the country or have been exposed to someone diagnosed with Coronavirus, please call to reschedule your appointment or move your appointment to a telehealth visit.
Thank you for your patience with us as we move forward together during these uncertain times. We will continue to communicate with you as more updates become available.
If you are not comfortable coming into the office at this time, you will still be able to receive dermatologic care from one of our board-certified providers via telemedicine. We are offering online virtual appointments, please contact our office to schedule.
We encourage you to continue practicing everyday prevention
As you touch people, surfaces, and objects throughout the day, you accumulate germs on your hands. You can infect yourself with these germs by touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
Although there is no vaccine available to prevent infection with the new coronavirus, you can take steps to reduce your risk of infection. CDC guidelines recommend following the standard precautions for avoiding respiratory viruses:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
- Avoid sharing dishes, glasses, bedding and other household items if you’re sick.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces you often touch. Stay home from work, school, and public areas if you’re sick.
Please rest assured that Skin and Cancer Center of Arizona is dedicated to keep our patients and staff safe while providing necessary care to our patients. Please feel free to contact our office should you have any questions or concerns.
